The Order of St. David’s Shadow
Group/Organization Origin: Springing up in the late 2000’s they started to realize the drastic increase in cult activities. Their spread had to be contained or they would soon outstretch and outnumber the Catholic church. The Pope eventually talked to three entrusted Cardinals who were sworn to secrecy. They would lead the priests under them and extinguish the cultic threat by any means necessary. The Pope was especially vague on his details being sure to give them all the freedom and resources necessary.
Group/Organization History:
The first years were rough. A few priest getting a little too zealous for their own good attempting to convert a whole village… then they threatened them with death. It was a dark time. They soon came up with rules, a charter that forbid mass conversion and threats without express permission form one of Three Cardinals, called Lords in the shadow and only by others in the Order. The catholic church is one of the largest organization in the world, their reach spreading deep into every intelligence organization. This makes it easy to track down and neutralize possible threats.
Lords are the leaders of the order. There is always three of them in command at all times. They command the legend and have the full participation of the order. They only meet once every 10 years during the spring, when new members cardinals are voted into the order. That’s not to say they don’t stay in touch. Every other parts of the hierarchy are in charge of the people under them.
Group/Organization Purpose: The purpose is to kill or convert people of cults or followers of false gods.
Group/Organization Homebase: There is a hidden base buried under Vatican City. The access point is through a hidden passage in the library, a shelf opens up to a large underground cavern. It leads to a elaborate maze of tunnels and finally to the center of the city. Complete with high-tech computer systems and a state-of-the-art prison.
Group/Organization Funding: The Vatican, the one of the richest organizations on earth.
