Welcome to Ancient: The Roleplay of the Gods.
In order to make this a more fun and interesting roleplay for all players; we have to lay down a couple ground rules.
General and Forum Guidelines
1.) The Golden Rule; be nice to each other. If you're a jerk; I won't hesitate to ban. In character, it's a bit different. But don't do it out of character. If you are caught doing this; you will be banned. However, I cannot be there 24/7 so if you have a problem with someone doing something; you message me. Don't take care of it yourself because that might get you in trouble as well.
2.) Follow the Proboards Terms of Service. This means to keep everything safe for work, don't promote or do illegal things, and post in English.
3.) Don't post in any IC areas before your character is accepted. Posting in OOC areas before then is fine.
4.) PM me when you're done with your character sheet WITH A LINK PUT IN. I'm not going to go searching for them.
5.) There is no character limit; but try to only take what you can handle. It's not fair to abandon someone in a thread.
6.) Please have your display name set to your character's name or title! It looks really messy when you have "xxslayer69xx" playing Zeus.

7.) Face Claims are optional.
8.) All images must be safe for work, and must follow the Proboards Terms of Service.
9.) I cannot stress this enough. NO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 13 FOR FACE CLAIMS. I don't want to get arrested for child pornography getting hosted on my forum, and if I find anything like it; it will be deleted and you WILL be banned.
10.) If a god you want is taken; but in the dead category, you can ask the admin if he thinks it's okay to use. If not; ask the member using him or her if he or she is interested in killing his or her character.
11.) Gods can refer to each other with their God names or their Host names. Demigods and fae (Not the Fairy Queens or the Tuatha De Danaan) don't have to worry about this.
12.) Gods gain power at age 16. Demigods and Fae are exempt from this rule as they are born with some modicum of power.
13.) Gods go through a ritual to gain powers at the M'Axia River. If they don't go through this in their history, or in the roleplay.
14.) Vanilla mortal characters DO NOT know about the gods living among them unless it has been revealed by one of the gods.
15.) If a god goes through a certain ritual to become human, all mortals must forget the god. There are ways around this, but we'll let your creativity shine through. The reasoning we have for this rule; is that when gods lose their godliness; the part of a mortal's brain which deals with the memory of said person is overloaded and must forget the person in order to protect itself from losing all semblance of sanity. A God's presence is too powerful without a mortal coil. Remembering such a thing would make any mortal mad.

17.) Threads are to be marked [OPEN] if they are open to all players or [CLOSED] if you have someone already joining you, or if you want a specific character to join you mark it with the characters name in this format [SCOTT] or [SET]
18.) If things are about to get real hot and heavy in a thread; please fade to black. In addition; we allow murder and other such stuff, but be respectful and don't describe them too heavily.
19.) Ask permission before killing another persons character.
